I hold a first class honours degree in Surface and Textile Design and am a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, a prestigious association for designer-makers founded in 1887 by William Morris and Walter Crane.

My ethos is to create art and articles in the most eco friendly ways as possible, injected with humour, colour and imagination for all to enjoy regardless of age. All the items I make are created by hand in my colourful studio by the sea in Brighton, UK.

My work blurs the boundaries between textile design and illustration. Each item I make tells a little story in some way. Having always been fascinated by animals, they appear in my work repeatedly, as do street scenes and cars.

My work is inspired essentially by everything around me, ranging from nature to urban life. I am a big kid at heart and admire anything a little magical or off-beat. Fairytales, childhood memories, humour and imagination feed my creative work as does colour which continually inspires me and plays an important role in my creations.

I love the imagery of 1970's craftbooks, as well as funky vintage fabrics and scandinavian textile design. I am also a huge fan of Japanese craft, design and Kawaii culture.

.

Drawing is my absolute passion. All the pieces I make are developed from illustrations in my sketchbook. With a diverse range of styles, I have been described as "having many hands", from spontaneous naive line drawing to a more sophisticated realism.
